Wow, I have not been blogging for almost 3 months! Jaden got middle ear infetion in January, I resigned from my job in January, CNY and Jaden's 1st Birthday came and past in February... I keep thinking to myself, if I dont blog about these events soon I will forget all the details!! oh my oh my...
Here we go:
Middle Ear Infection
January was not a very happy month for me, because Jaden kept falling sick :( We reckon it's because we have switched him to a day care centre since early November and there are around 20 over babies at the centre. He was sick every other week since December and I was taking emergency leave from work so often it really stressed me out.
This time round it started with some mild cough and fever which lasted for only 1 day, on 11 Jan. I remember my mother was in PJ then so she helped me take care of Jaden at home.
15 Jan, a Saturday, Jaden developed fever in the afternoon, his temperature was very high and very sudden. The fever lasted for about 5 days and linger at 38.5 degree celcius to 39 degree celcius. We brought him to 3 Doctors from 15 to 18 Jan, why 3 Doctors? Because I panicked when the fever did not subside and the temperature always rises very quickly to 39 degree celcius every 4 hours. 3 Doctors and none of them diagnosed him with Middle Ear Infection! One of them even diagnosed him wrongly with Roseola.
We realised something is very wrong and it is definitely not roseola when I see yellowish liquid oozing out from both of his ears. After seeking advice from my cell leader's wife, Agnes, I brought Jaden to SJMC on 21 Feb. The good Doctor diagnosed him with Middle Ear Infection and prescribed him with Antibiotic Ear Drops and Oral Antibiotics.
I was also sick and had been coughing my lungs out since early January, and with this episode with Jaden, I lost 3kgs after painstakingly taking care of him day and night. It is after this excruciating experience that we finally decided to stop sending him to the baby centre. The caregivers are really good, and they love all the babies there, but even the Doctor advised us not to put him in a centre with too many children because they tend to pass the germs around, and we just can't bear to see him keep falling sick anymore.
As a result of our decision, I tendered my resignation to my dear Boss on 25 Jan, and now I am a SAHM! My friend Adeline taught me this abbreviation, she said: What?! You blog and you don't know what is SAHM? It's Stay At Home Mum la! :p
I am a SAHM now, woohooo!!!
In the past, I would pray to God every single day I send Jaden to the babysitter. I pray that one day I will be able to quit my job and stay home to take care of him. I am SO glad God answered my prayers!! Thank you Jesus! MUAKS!
Now that I have quit my job, I will just leave the hard work of earning a living to my dear husband, hehehe..
Chinise New Year
This year we didn't go back to Kuantan for CNY, we celebrated with my family in Kuala Lumpur. All of us checked into Grand Millenium Hotel on 2 Feb and checked out on 5 Feb. This is Jaden's 2nd CNY, last year he was only few days old when we celebrated CNY in PJ, and I was "enjoying" my confinement period at home (*bleh*), this time round CNY is more fun, and I dressed him up in lots of CNY costumes :)
We celebrated Jaden's 1st birhday at Jogoya Restaurant on 4 Feb with this nice cake from Secret Recipe:
The cake was yummy and relatively cheap compared to other 3D cakes from Just Heavenly & some famous bloggers, so we ordered the exact same cake for Jaden's 1st Birthday Party at home on 9 Feb.
For the 9 Feb Birthday Party, we invited both my sister's family and my sister in-law's family, my 4th brother in-law, my Cell Group leaders, and Dixie (my MIL was her babysitter). My MIL, who is a great chef, cooked 90% of the dishes. She cooked super delicious yam rice, pork in dark soya sauce (lo bak) and fried birthday noodles.
*SIGH*.. I do not have any pictures from the party taken by my camera to post on this blog because I was robbed on 11 Feb and my camera's gone *SOB SOB* All the precious birthday photos are gone *SIGH AGAIN*
Here are some photos during the CNY from my sister's camera:
