Look Mummy, I can hold my own bottle

We no longer hold Jaden in our arms to feed him, he has been taking his milk lying on the bed, propped up with his favourite Mickey pillow.

I will usually get him into position and take his both hands to hold the bottle, but as soon as I let go of my hands, he will hold the bottle with his right hand alone and tilt his head to the right. This pattern is very consistent. If I step in again and help him hold his bottle, he will align his head back to centre again. I wonder why he can't look straight when he is feeding himself, funny boy ^_^

This is taken at one of the earlier sessions where he still holds his bottle with both hands.

He will tilt his bottle up when the milk is running low..

Right hand - hold bottle, Left hand - caress tummy...

Jaden: Life is a bliss when I have nen nen in my hand ^_^

Right hand hold bottle, Left hand caress the tummy, Head tilt to the right... Consistent

He holds the bottom of the bottle, not at the side.

Jaden The Escape Artist

"oh boy, it's mummy's camera case, let me try to grab it from my walker"

"this is tiring, may be I can chew on the walker for some energy"

-_-|||

Bye bye walker, mummy is going to ban you soon...

Sleeping in style

Jaden was very sleepy last night and he knocked out right after his last feed at around 9.30pm.

Look at his funny pose:

It looks as if he is walking in his sleep ^_^

I am so glad to see his "buns" reappearing on his cheeks. He was sick very often last month and the buns shrunk :(

Halleluja for den den's weight gain! :D

Playpen = Toilet

Yeap, that's right, Jaden loves to poo poo while playing inside his playpen.

This had happened many times. He will be sitting quietly inside and playing with his toys, and when we pick him out from the playpen, sometimes just 5 minutes later, he had already poo'd in the diaper...

I think he likes the privacy, and he probably thinks nobody can see him through the mesh so he can poo poo in peace, hahaha...

This is his playpen cum toilet:

I am now very cautious when I put him inside the playpen, and always smell his butt when I pick him out from there :)

Clicking the tongue

This new trick started a week ago, I think it was on the 2nd Dec. We noticed him trying very hard to click his tongue, but he only managed to do a very flat "tssk tssk tssk" kind of sound. He was very determined to get it right as we demonstrate to him how to do it the correct way. So he keeps doing it again, and again, and again...... and again......... and..... again... -_-|||

1 day later, he finally managed to do a very nice click, of course still with many flops in between. But when he manages to get 1 nice click, you can really see contentment written all over his face :D

Now, 1 week down the road, not only can he click his tongue loud and clear, he is also able to do it many times in a row. We found great joy in watching him do this.

Den den, mummy hope you will remember this lesson:-

"Sheer determination will help you achieve whatever goals you set in your life, mummy & papa will be by your side all the time, cheering you on!"

This is a video of him doing a few nice clicks, until he decided to sit down, paused, & concentrate on his poo poo! LOL

Waving Good-bye & throwing Fly Kiss

He started waving goodbye when he was 8 months plus, but he doesn't know how to wave on demand then. I have to wave at him, and I have to hold his hand to wave it back at me.

If I don't hold his hand, it will be like this:-
Mummy: "Jaden, wave, Jaden... " *mummy waves at baby*
"Jaden, wave, Jaden... " (x 10 times)
Jaden: ok la I wave for you once you poor lady *wave*
Mummy: *happy like monkey*

Since about 2 weeks ago, I noticed that he can wave on demand when I ask him to wave, without having to hold his hand.

And about few days back, I noticed that when I say "bye-bye", he will automatically start waving, I don't have to wave at him and don't have to hold his hand to do it. What a great achievement! haha..

One night I was talking to hubby on the handphone, with the speaker on, and Jaden was sitting on the bed with me. When I finished talking I said "bye" to my hubby, casually, then the little boy started waving to the phone. LOL. Jaden you are so funny!! And papa & mummy think you are such a genius for knowing how to wave at the right time!! (Please forgive us for being so biased, which parent isn't? ;) )

Since he has become so good at waving, I thought it's time to teach him "Fly Kiss". This is, afterall, what all the cute babies have to learn to do :) On Tuesday morning, I took his hand and taught him about Fly Kiss. His hand was very stiff and he doesn't look like he understands this new gig. After trying for few times, I stopped teaching him.

That morning, my mother was going back to Kuantan after staying with my sister here for almost 2 weeks. My BIL chartered a private cab for her (how nice of him) and my mum asked the cab to stop at my house to pick up a few things.

When she was leaving my house, we were all standing at the car porch saying good-bye to her. My hubby was carrying Jaden, and I asked him to wave good-bye to his nai nai (grandmother), and he did it immediately. Then I said to him, "Fly Kiss, Jaden, Fly Kiss", and out of nowhere, he moved his fist to his mouth, kissed it and moved his fist forward to his nainai! and he did it 3 times!!

Papa, mummy and nainai... all happy like monkey!

LOL, we are so easily pleased.

Yes, although he should kiss his palm and throw the kiss out with a horizontal palm, instead of kissing the back of his fist and throw it out like a punch (haha), but we know that he understand what is a fly kiss now ^_^ (and again, we think he is a genius, hahaha.. hopeless parents? :p )

I am sure he will be able to master the Fly Kiss very soon.

Till then, Happy Fly Punching my darling!!

Let's go swimming!

Jaden received a swimming trunk from my 2nd sister in Singapore. The swimming trunk was my nephew Timothy's 1st ever swimming trunk, and they bought it for him from Holland, woooooooow!! and now Jaden gets to inherit it, double woooooooooow!!!

These photos were taken on 6 Nov, the weekend that we were supposed to go back to Kuantan but didn't in the end because Jaden was not feeling well. I entertain my hubby and myself by putting on the swimming trunk for my little boy.

Coincidentally Jaden's playpen is blue in colour and the mattress has the prints of sea creatures, doesn't it look like Jaden is swimming in the sea? :D

this picture is not blur, this is Jaden swimming underwater *chuckle*

We bring you to the real sea when we go back to Kuantan ok? ^_^

Updates

I took leave yesterday.

Yeap! Because my little champion's fever returned on Monday night and again around 4am+ Tuesday morning, I just can't bear the thought of sending him to the babysitter. I figure if he stays home with me he will surely get to sleep and rest more, and thus receovering faster.

Me and hubby brought him to see Doctor yesterday morning. Doctor precribed him with LactoGG to boost up his immune system by cultivating the good bacteria in his intestine. Jaden has been having loose and watery stool and the fever could be due to some germs in the stomach, so the Doctor wants to strenghten his stomach.

It is true with the Chinese saying, "祸从口出,病从口入" (troubles come out from the mouth, sickness go in through the mouth), Jaden has probably been putting lots of dirty things into his mouth and caught the germs from god knows where. Two weeks ago when he was given the antibiotics, the medicine has destroyed all the good and bad bacteria, so now we have to cultivate the good bacteria with the help of Lactogg.

He was super cranky yesterday and doesn't even allow me to put him down. He will start crying the moment I put him in his playpen, or into his walker, or on the playmat in his room, and refused to be consoled even after I pick him up. So I thought, ok ok, I will pamper you today la, since you are sick :) But he was getting overboard when he go on wailing (without tears) for more than 20 minutes.

At first I was holding him upright, close to me and keep rubbing him on his back and telling him "ok ok don't cry... mummy sayang.... mummy sayang..." When he keeps wailing and nothing works, I lay him down on my arm (in feeding position) and look at him sternly. He was still wailing at first, then I can see he noticed my serious face and he stopped wailing IMMEDIATELY, and he looked startled, wahahaha... The serious face effect was so immediate I almost burst out laughing. Actually I did laugh secretly and my body twitched a few times, I hope he didn't notice it :p

Well what happens next? I continue looking at him with my "no nonsense" face without saying anything to soothe him. So the little one just look at me quietly... and guess what he did? He tried to make peace with me by making cute sounds. He looked at me and say "aaiiii" in a long and gentle tone, as if telling me "hello mummy I am your cute son Jaden, are you ok?" I did not answer him and continue to look at him with the serious face. Then he "aiiii" at me again. He knows I wasn't happy with him and he tried to friend me back, hahaha.

Then I gave him a 1 minute lecture and told him I disapproved his behaviour. He listened to me quietly the whole time until I tried to feed him water and he started to wriggle away from me, making whiny sounds. From this episode I know for sure that he understands perfectly what I say and comprehends my body language & my facial expression. But sometimes he just can't remember what I said 2 minutes ago.... much like his father, hahaha -_-|||

Usually my boy is a super good baby and he seldom cries. I guess he did what he did because he was not feeling well and was just trying to manja me :)

This is him with the Hisamitsu ByeBye-Fever cool sheet on his forehead. The sheet doesn't have a chance to stick long on his forehead because he keeps wanting to peel it off. I'm also afraid that if he falls asleep on his stomach, he will rub his face on the mattress causing the cool sheet to go near his eyes, wooohhhh, I don't want that to happen. So I just stick it on for some cutesy pictures :D

Check out the cute animal prints on the cool sheet, kawaii neh!!

Lying on his favourite mickey, goofy & donald pillow.

By evening, he was quite back to himself again and I took these nice photos of him standing inside his cot:

My hubby & I always think he is the cutest baby in the world, and this is proof... hehe

boy, this is how you fall sick, putting everything into your mouth... *shakes head*

9 months and 3 weeks old Jaden, not a single tooth in sight

I don't know what's with this face... trying to look sexy by biting his lips?

this is his so fake yet so cute smile... I love this pic!

this is the "enough la mummy.." face

Today he will be taken care of by my MIL who is in town :) So my little boy gets to rest and sleep all he wants at home... awww, how I wish I could do that too. I have been waking up at 2 hours interval these 2 days to monitor his temperature, and also at 5am everyday for the past 3 weeks to cook his porridge for him to bring to the babysitter's (I precooked the stalk the night before and wake up in the morning to dump everything into the slow cooker), I think I can fall asleep standing.

But all is worthwhile when I see this face:

the romper says "I MAKE DIRT LOOKS GOOD" ^.^
