Wow, I have not been blogging for more than a month... *sheepish smile* If you have been visiting this blog to check out for updates, I am sorry for letting you down for not writing more often :p
I haven't been updating the blog because my little champion has not been feeling well for the past one month. First it was the bronchiolitis, which lasted for about 2 weeks. A few days after he receovered from it, he was down with fever and diarrhea, which was caused by virus, according to his Doctor. We planned to go back to Kuantan on 5 Nov (Deepavali holiday & long weekend) to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday but we had to cancel the trip because Jaden was not 100% fit to travel. So another week went passed where we have to feed medicine, monitor his temperature, change diapers ever so often because he would pass motion like a bomb and the watery stool would leak from his diaper and stain his clothes.
This is a picture of him from the diarrhea days, my little champion completely knocked out, exhausted from his many rounds of explosive poo poo.

This is me wearing a pearl necklace in the wee hours in the morning. Vain? haha, not to that extend! I wear the pearl necklace to distract him so I could feed him his medicine without him struggling like mad.
(ya ya I know what you are thinking... omg the doublechin!! :p )
the distraction works, after taking the medicine, he fell asleep peacefully in my arms :)

On the 2nd week of Nov, after Jaden has recovered from his diarrhea, we switched him to a new babysitter. After many episodes of unpleasant events, we have decided it's time to go. So Jaden officially joined Baby Village on 8 November 2010, under the care of Aunty Jessy and Aunty Annie.
We want to thank God that Jaden has been adapting well to the new environment, and the babysitters there really took good care of him (and his buttocks). I no longer complain and grumble everytime I change him into his pyjamas at night, because his buttocks is diaper rash free :D
I forgot to take a picture of him on his 1st day there, but I managed to snap lots of pictures on the 1st night he came back from Baby Village:
"mummy, picture time again? let me think of how to pose for u ok?"
"mummy, this is my impression of a toothless ah pek..."

"this is an arrogant toothless ah pek"

"this is a friendly ah pek"

"this is me saying 'wassup mummy!'..."

"this is just my cheeky face.."
"hehehe... enough posing, can we play now?"

"can you stick out your tongue like this?"

"or put your finger into the mouth like this?"
"hehehe... I like taking pictures..."

"hello mummy, take more take more.. "
"1,2,3.. smiiillleee.."
"this is how I rooooaaaarrr..."

If you compare these photos to those taken 1 month ago, you can tell that he has lost so much weight :(
It really sux to see him sick... but I guess this is part and parcel of growing up. Both mummy and baby have to learn to be stronger!
The following photos were taken on the 2nd day at Baby Village, that morning me and my hubby drop him off together.
See how happy he was playing with his new toy...
His papa tried to pull him away from the toy so he could stand up to pose nicely for me, but his facial expression says it all, "noooooooooo, can't you see I am playing?"
ok... so we left him alone...

Sucking his bottom lip again while playing.

Baby Updates
Jaden is now 9 months and 2 weeks old. He weighs 7.9kg. He was 8.4kg last month before he fell sick, so you can imagine how upset I am when I was told he is now 7.9kg at the last visit to the Doctor's :(
This is what he can accomplish now:-
1) Sits steadily
2) Cruise along the furniture
3) Wave goodbye
4) Turn towards you when his name is called. Last night hubby was carrying him standing infront of the tv and I called his name from 6 feet away, he looked away from the tv, look at me and answered me with a "Ugh". Hahaha, it's not mere coincidence, I tried it again and he answered me with a "Ugh" again! But 2nd time round he didn't bother to look at me, he was engrossed with the tv :)
5) Stand on his own (unsupported) for 5 seconds
6) Pulling mummy's leg. Yes he can! It has happened many times, when hubby is carrying him standing in front of the tv, and I appear on his sides to play peekaboo with him, he will pretend he didn't see me and continue watching the tv programme. I guess he didn't know we know he can see me because he always grin from ear to ear when I appear from different spots around him. He will continue to "ignore" me until I tickle him or I hide myself behind my hubby and he will start looking out for me. This is my favourite game with him :)
7) Doctor has switched him to soya milk since he had diarrhea. I tried to switch him back to formula but his stool becomes watery again so I guess I will stick to soya milk for a while.
Some observations:
1) He likes to rub his hands on the bedsheet while he is falling asleep. And when he is feeding, he likes to rub his hand on my chest or on his knee, it's very cute to see :)
2) He doesn't like to chew on his teething rings, he prefers to suck his bottom lip
3) He prefers cereal than porridge, savoury food than sweet food
4) I want to say he prefers mummy more than papa, but he is really very fair, he always play with us equally, when we put him on our bed in the morning, he will play with me for a while, then crawl to his papa, then back to me again.
